You Found The Dipstick – now learn how not to spill a drop! How To Pour Car Engine Oil.

If you have been to one of our Galmatic Workshops then you know where the dipstick is and how and when to check the oil.

But do you know how to pour the oil into the engine without spilling any oil?

It’s a trick that works with all bottles, no matter what you are pouring – so not just car engine oil!

Watch our quick video to learn this trick and two other tips you need to remember when you are playing with your dipstick.

But when you’re pouring the oil it’s easy to get it everywhere! Not only is it a waste of oil but you can really smell it when it starts to ‘cook’ on the hot engine as you start driving.

Hold the bottle correctly and you should be able to pour the oil without the use of a funnel and without spilling a drop!

Not sure how to check your oil?

Keep a litre of oil in the boot of the car as most of the time you will probably be checking your oil at the service station or on a long trip, so its handy to have some available.

Make sure to keep an oil rag in there too, just in case you do spill a little, and for any quick debris cleaning you might need to do. Watch our ‘How to keep spiders out of the car’ video here to see why you need an oil rag in the car!

And lastly, keep some baby wipes in the boot to clean any grease off your hands.

Have you ever poured oil all over the engine? What do you keep in your boot?
