About the author
Eleni Mitakos has had a passion for driving and tinkering with cars, since she bought her first vintage car as a teenager. That car was a 1955 Holden FE, with no side view mirrors, seatbelts and an old grey motor.
Eleni soon found that there was no information about basic car care and maintenance available that catered to the young female market that was user friendly and easy to understand, especially when it came to old cars. The automotive industry targeted information towards the male dominated market, excluding 49% of the market: being females!
Eleni began her mission and over the last 20 years of driving both old and new cars, Eleni has collected information, tips and tricks about car care and driving,
with a desire to introduce other young women to the fun and enjoyment of being car and road savvy.
With over 16 years’ experience as a corporate trainer, Eleni has combined her unique and engaging training and writing style, with her passion for educating and created Galmatic.
