So it is time to service your car and you’re not sure what questions to ask.

Take this list with you to the mechanic to ensure you get what you pay for.

Questions to ask:

§  What is the hourly labour rate and is there a minimum labour fee? (Australian average labour fee is $110 - $150 p/h)

§  Will you be contacted before parts are replaced?

§  What will be checked/changed during the service?

§  Will they use genuine parts? (Car parts have no name brands too).

§  Can you see the parts that they replaced?

§  How long will the service take?

Keep in mind that the average car needs to be serviced every 10 000 kms

If you have a vintage car, be kind to her and give her an oil change every 5000 kms
